Wednesday was another cool but sunny day in Ormond by the Sea. We walked and went for a bike ride. Later in the afternoon we sat on the back deck out of the wind and enjoyed the warmth of the sun. Life continues to be good. The sun and warm weather is uplifting and makes the body and mind feel youthful.
HR SAYS:
Once again we will see Shelly off at the end of the summer to another part of the world to a teaching position. She returned from Seoul, South Korea, to study for her B ED degree at Ott U. She is working extremely hard and doing very well. She is wrapping up the final days in which assignments are due. The University Education program has allowed her to be in a classroom with a teacher throughout the year, part of this being her practicum. We know she enjoyed her time at Good Shepherd Elementary because she talks non stop about how nice everyone is and the children so sweet. She would work there in a heartbeat. The reality of it is that it is impossible to get a full time teaching job in Ottawa. Shelly went to an International Job Fair at Queens U a few weeks back and accepted a job at Sheikh Zayed Private Girls Academy in Abu Dhabi. The interviewer was the Principal of this school who is from Ontario. She told Shelly that there are teachers already there from Ottawa. There is even a Canadian Club in which folks get together to celebrate the Canadian Holidays and for other events, how nice to have a touch of home. There are others she knows from that part of the world. She will have and make more friends.
Shelly didn’t know how she was going to cope with our winter after being away from it for 3 years. Well she complains how cold it is now and then but I think she rather enjoyed, or at least made the best of it. She went skating at the school rink and also went on a school outing with the class to go tubing in Quebec, check out the pictures.
We couldn’t be more proud of our daughter and we are going to miss her. We realize how stressful this year has been for her but very soon this weight will be lifted and she will be a very happy lady. We hope she will come back to Canada and decide to teach at home.
Today is going to be one terrific day here, already the sun is nice and warm. The last couple of mornings there was absolutely no one out on the beach. Later yesterday we did see a few folks with their fishing rods, today folks were out there very early.
When we arrived we noticed that the Pelicans were not around. A couple of weeks ago we started to see some and as of yesterday we now see them in flocks.
Today's picture are of Dubai and Shelly.

Didn't I show you the photos of my apartment?? I thought I did. I'm going to have a HUGE 2 bedroom the living room is the size of my old apartment!! The city is beautiful and clean and modern and safe. I'm VERY excited :) Sam called me on Saturday and I forgot that she lived in Abu Dhabi for like 4 years so she gave me the scoop. It should be great!
