Saturday the Florida warmth returned. We went out for a morning walk for staples at the local grocery store. Today was also our first walk of the beach in the warm sunshine. We found our first Starfish who is now sunning on the deck.

The motorcyclist arrived around 330 PM and we were off to the races literally. These people know how to stage an event. There were dedicated parking areas with shuttle buses running continually back and forth.

The race started off with an ARCRA, Lucas Slick Oil 200 mile race with all the up and commers. We walked into the main grandstand along the front row and 40 cars passed by on the straight away at 190 mph. They were less than 20 feet away from the aisle and the noise scared the crap out me. It was a blur. I quickly decided that a safer area to view the race would be high in the grandstand. The Hooter Boy, Three Mile Island Ron, wanted to invade the Hooter's area and we dined on the biggest chicken wings I have experienced and drowned them with Budweiser beer. Check out the pictures of the cutties. Back to the races. The ARCRA racers run about a car length between cars and believe me there are lots of crashes.

The Budweiser Shoot-Out had twenty-eight (28) cars with all the big names. These guys are crazy. They run a two-and-a-half mile lap in 50 seconds with only inches between cars and three abreast in the corners. Only fifteen (15) cars completed the race. Television does not give you the same feeling of the speed, the smell of tires and of course the crowd atmosphere. Believe me, these fans love their racing and all sport their favorite drivers wears. A fun day and I suggest if you ever have the opportunity to attend a NASCAR race, it is a most excellent adventure.

Will enjoy reading your "Floridian" blog and may even find time in Mexico to check to see what you are up to...but fun, sun, beach with champagne come first.

You old guys are a disgrace hanging out with those Hooter Girls. You would never see me doing that.

Great photo of the Hogs.
