This is our first update since our arrival in Florida. We left Ottawa on Friday, January 30th, through snow and blowing snow and stayed in Staunton VA. Saturday's drive was easy and we arrived in Ormond Beach in the PM. The Condo was open. My Brother John meet us and we dinned and relaxed with a bottle of wine.
Back to the Condo. It was a full time lived in unit and unfortunately, the owners both passed away in 2008. As you can imagine; the Condo was chucked full of their personal belongings. After a little purging, washing, cleaning and tender loving car the unit now feels like home. A few hiccups were encountered along the way. Internet service was not available through a wireless router to my Brother's service. The next step with the Internet provider, who would not issue a new service to an existing service in another name. The problem was overcome and as of yesterday we are now on line. No cell phone service at this time. Another story, Net10 service expired. A new allotment of time was purhased and it could not be initialized as our old service had been re-assigned. We now need a new SIM card for the phone. It arrived yesterday by FED EX but doesn't work. Net10 now informed that they need 48 hours to retify the problem. This too will pass.
Ron Lewis and Barry Lovett, Esquire, are arriving on Saturday from Melbourne Beach on their motorcycles. The boys are going to the Daytona Speedway for the Bud / Hooter's Shootout race and pre race activities at the Hooter's tent. We will have fun.
Thank God, booze is cheap and plentiful. It numbs the mind and allows you to relax and smell the coffee.
